Netizens Slams The Upcoming Animated Movie about Magellan

The story of Ferdinand Magellan and Lapu-Lapu has been part of our history and we Filipinos know how we were conquered by Spain for 333 years. The colonization introduced us to Christianity and many other things that are now part of our culture.

The story is undeniably great for a movie. But when a trailer for an animated movie based on Magellan’s voyage around the world surfaced, Filipino netizens are not happy.

ELCANO and MAGELLAN:The First Voyage around the World is an animated film directed by Ángel Alonso that employs a great sense of adventure but might screw real moments in history. 

Basing on the trailer the movie might depict the country’s colonizers as good and seems like they are showing Lapu-Lapu as the villain in the Battle of Mactan. 

A lot of netizens have shared their sentiments about ‘Elcano & Magellan’.

I’m gonna say this once: that Magellan film’s animation is terrible and movies like that usually fade into obscurity so literally STOP TALKING ABOUT IT, STOP GIVING IT MILEAGE, and just let it die a fast and quiet death
